Reverend Kusi Boateng’s assertions of having friendships with the President and Vice President without receiving any contracts or payments from them have sparked comments from North Tongu MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa. Ablakwa alleges that Rev. Kusi has been awarded government contracts under his second name, Kwabena Adu Gyamfi.
Taking to his X page, Mr Okudzeto claimed that Rev. Kusi’s statement was false. “From my unimpeachable tracking, all the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government contracts have been awarded to Kusi Boateng’s second identity, Kwabena Adu Gyamfi,” he stated. He supported his claims with cash payment vouchers. He identified two companies, EL Dunamis Limited and JNS Talent Centre Limited, which are allegedly owned by Rev. Kusi under his second identity.
Ablakwa further detailed that these contracts, which were single-sourced, totalled GHS 7 million—GHS 3.5 million each—paid to the companies for supplying paper towels to the Ministry of Health in 2021. According to him, JNS Talent received payment from the government on July 23, 2021, while EL Dunamis was paid on August 17, 2021.
Criticizing the transactions, the MP remarked, “I can’t imagine what GHS 7 million worth of tissues looks like.” He also highlighted the importance of parliamentary oversight in uncovering what he described as a criminal scheme by the Reverend. “Obviously, if diligent parliamentary oversight had not exposed his criminal double identity scheme, he would have deceived many with such dishonest sermons and contract-induced prophecies,” Ablakwa concluded.
