Popular Ghanaian actress Martha Ankomah has revealed that she has never met fellow actor Lil Win in person, despite their ongoing legal dispute. Speaking during an interview on Accra FM on August 7, Ankomah clarified that the only time she communicated with Lil Win was when he contacted her in 2019, requesting a favor.
Ankomah detailed that this interaction occurred on April 27, 2019, at 10:38 AM, which she verified by checking her phone records during the interview. “Before God and man, I have never met Lil Win in person. The only time we spoke was when he called me on the phone asking for a favor,” she stated.
She further explained, “You know iPhones keep records. This was the only time Lil Win called me, and it was in connection with the very GTP brand he later insulted me over. I spoke to GTP on his behalf, and although I’m not sure if he followed up, Lil Win did thank me afterwards.”
Ankomah continued, “I provided him with a contact number and informed him that GTP had assured me he would receive a good deal. I also told him to reach out if he needed further assistance. That was the only time I ever spoke to Lil Win. We’ve never met in person.”
According to her, Lil Win, a well-known Kumawood actor and producer, had reached out to her seeking help in securing a deal with GTP to print school uniforms for his institution, Great Minds International School, which was established in Kumasi in 2018. “He wanted GTP to print school uniforms for his school. He was informed that I was the GTP brand ambassador, so he called me for help,” Ankomah recounted. “I told him I would speak to them and get back to him, which I did.”
In February 2024, a GHS5 million defamation lawsuit filed by Martha Ankomah against Lil Win came to light. The suit relates to alleged defamatory remarks made by Lil Win about Ankomah. The case is still pending, with a hearing scheduled for October. However, unconfirmed reports suggest that both parties are considering an out-of-court settlement.
