Reggae/Dancehall legend Emmanuel Andrews Samini, popularly known as Samini, showcases a new facet of his talent in the upcoming movie ‘The Storm’.

Directed by Ben Owusu, ‘The Storm’ is set to premiere at the Silverbird Cinemas in Kumasi on Saturday, September 21, and Sunday, September 22, 2024. In the film, Samini takes on the role of Ali Zafara, the ruthless and commanding leader of the Southern Crime underworld.

The film features a stellar cast, including Ama K. Abebrese, Adjetey Anang, Fiifi Coleman, Salma Mumin, Edward Agyakum Kuffuor, and Luckie Lawson.


This Ghanaian thriller delves into the dark underworld of Accra, weaving a narrative of crime, murder, kidnapping, corruption, and the fight for justice. Accra is depicted as a city reeling under the weight of gangsters’ criminal activities.

Adjetey Anang and Ama K. Abebrese portray Detective Danso and Detective Lynn, respectively, two dedicated members of law enforcement. Meanwhile, Milly, played by Luckie Lawson, serves as a pivotal social advocate fighting against crime and injustice, particularly focused on protecting the youth.

Through her advocacy, Milly unexpectedly rises to fame after appearing on various media platforms, positioning her as a formidable rival to the President, Edward Agyekum Kufuor.
