Ohene Kwame Frimpong, the mastermind behind Medikal’s sold-out concert at Indigo at the O2, has revealed the significant support he received from the performing artistes.

Speaking to Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM’s *Showbiz A-Z*, OK Frimpong, who is also running as an independent candidate for the Asante Akyem North Constituency, shared that most of the performers at the event covered their own expenses.

“All the acts that came to support Medikal, it’s just about two of them that we had to pay for some things, hotel and a few things. Almost all of them, they took the financial part themselves,” he stated.

He further added, “Definitely, we didn’t do anything for Shatta Wale. That’s the only one I will mention. The rest I won’t say.” Frimpong also noted that he did not pay for the artistes’ performance fees.

The concert, held in London on May 3, 2024, featured top acts like Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Sister Derby, Jah Bahd, and Efya, among others.

Reflecting on his earlier ventures, Frimpong recounted how his first UK event in 2018, featuring Amakye Dede and Kuami Eugene, was unsuccessful due to his inexperience in the event space. However, he has since found success with subsequent shows, including Medikal’s London concert.

An entrepreneur, philanthropist, and visionary with a deep interest in media and the arts, Ohene Kwame Frimpong is also vying as an independent parliamentary candidate for the Asante Akyem North Constituency in the 2024 elections.
