The Tema-West constituency has turned a new page in its political history as James Enu, the parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has been declared the Member of Parliament-elect. The announcement was made by the district electoral commissioner.

This landmark victory breaks the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 28-year stronghold in both presidential and parliamentary elections in the constituency. For the first time, an NDC candidate has claimed the Tema-West parliamentary seat, signaling a significant political shift.

James Enu emerged victorious with a commanding 49,225 votes, defeating the NPP’s Dennis Amfo-Sefah, who secured 27,618 votes.

In his acceptance speech at the collation center, Enu expressed heartfelt gratitude to the constituents for their trust and support. He vowed to serve with dedication, prioritizing the needs and aspirations of the people.

The victory marks a new era for Tema-West, reshaping its political narrative and setting the stage for a fresh approach to governance in the constituency.
