The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has dismissed claims circulating in a viral audio recording alleging that a civilian pick-up truck was allowed into the Magazine at the 5th Battalion of Infantry to transport ammunition to an undisclosed location.
In a press release issued on December 25, 2024, by the Department of Public Relations at its General Headquarters in Burma Camp, Accra, GAF categorically denied the allegations, describing them as baseless and urging the public to disregard them.
The statement clarified that the vehicle in question was delivering a live cow, recently acquired and quarantined before being relocated to the kraal near the Magazine.
GAF emphasized the importance of verifying information regarding security matters before sharing it, cautioning that falsehoods can mislead the public and create unnecessary tension, fear, and panic—particularly during sensitive periods.
The Armed Forces reiterated their open-door policy, encouraging the public to seek accurate and reliable information directly from the Department of Public Relations.
Reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding Ghana’s stability and sovereignty, GAF appealed to citizens to refrain from actions—whether intentional or inadvertent—that could disrupt the nation’s peace and security.
