Ghanaian actor of YOLO fame, John Peasah popularly known as Drogba has affirmed his commitment to remain focus on his healing and journey to regaining strength.
The actor shared update on his health status in an Instagram story on June 16, 2025.
Drogba expressed appreciation to God for progress in his health condition.
“I’m grateful for the progress I’ve made by God. The physical discomfort was overwhelming at times, but the spiritual solace I found was profound,” Drogba noted.
Drogba recounted that after an all-night service in 2024, after he had been diagnosed with a demyelinating disease, he experienced relief after a spiritual encounter with God.
However, the actor said some bloggers misinterpreted his words about his recovery which drew insensitive comments towards him.
But Drogba stressed that he would focus on his journey towards healing than dwell on negativity.
“Who likes to trend and is in pain? I’d rather not dwell on the negativity. Instead, I’m focusing on my journey towards healing and wholeness, both physically and spiritually.
“I affirm that I am strong, I am capable and I am worthy of love and care,” Drogba wrote.
In March 2024, Drogba was diagnosed with a life-threatening demyelinating disease. He was also diagnosed with Sleep Apnea, a sleep disorder where breathing is interrupted during sleep, and Stiff Person Spectrum Disorder, a rare neurological condition.
Drogba used a CPAP machine to help with his breathing.
The actor is now recovering from the disease and has shared update on his condition.
