After the NPP super delegates conference, vice president Dr. Mahmud Bawumia emerged the winner with Hon. Kennedy Agyapong coming second ahead of Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen prior to the main one which will held in November.
During the elections, President Akuffo-Addo went to cast his vote at the national headquarters of the new patriotic party(NPP) in Accra.
After casting his vote, he had the chance of meeting the press.he spoke about the elections and in so doing admitted that things are really difficult these days and he is aware most Ghanaians are suffering. This question by a journalist was thrown out to the president.
“Ghanaians say they are not happy with the way conditions are, they are tired, they are suffering,” a journalist asked the president who was driving off, from the premises after casting his ballot.
He answered by saying,”yes it is difficult, I can attest to that. I have always say this and I am not denying this time. Things are really hard for the ordinary Ghanaian, but I believe that with time things will change after voting the NPP into power in the upcoming elections.
The primary will come one this November and as it stands now, Dr. Mahmud Bawumia is likely to become the next presidential candidate for the new patriotic party.
