Two officers of Ghana Police Service have been Suspended for extorting a motor rider

The Ghana Police Service has suspended two officers, Lance Corporal Philimon Agbevem and Lance Corporal Peter Gbadagbo, following allegations of extortion involving a motor pillion rider in Accra. The incident is said to have taken place on July 22, 2024.

In a brief statement, the police confirmed that the officers were immediately placed under investigation on August 9, 2024, after the allegations went viral, drawing the attention of senior police officials. The statement also noted that the officers are currently cooperating with the investigation and will be subjected to the appropriate legal procedures.
